Savor Bangkok’s Cultural Diversity

In Bangkok — the City of Angels — tour top attractions and take a cooking class while staying at a centrally located hotel.

About Your Trip

Journey to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand established in the 15th century and now home to more than 14 million people. Begin your adventure at the sprawling pavilions, courtyards and gardens of the Grand Palace — official residence of the kings of Siam from 1782 to 1925 — where you’ll see the amazing Emerald Buddha statue. During your half-day tour, you’ll also visit Wat Pho, the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, the nation’s oldest and largest temple. Then, savor Chinatown and its abundance of street-food vendors as well as more cultural highlights in Old City.

The next day, test your cooking skills with a hands-on lesson in making 3 famous Thai dishes — like tom yum soup, green curry and pad thai — which you can sample afterward. You’ll even get a certificate as a souvenir.

The following day gives you ample leisure time to explore the city at your own pace. Top attractions include the majestic Chao Phraya River, famous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and Asiatique The Riverfront, an open-air night market established in 1907, which features more than 1,000 venues for shopping and eating.

What we love:
• Bangkok’s Grand Palace offers a complex of buildings that once housed the kings of Siam and includes 18th-century architecture and 4 main courts, divided by several walls and gates.
• If you desire, you could visit the frequently photographed traditional floating markets with lively shopping venues full of boats selling clothing, souvenirs, flowers and more — you’ll feel like you just stepped into a postcard!
• Thailand is renowned for its impeccable beaches, thriving nightlife and delectable cuisine, which are all quintessential elements of the Bangkok experience.
